Completed. Concluded. Finished. Ended. Terminated. Obliterated. If I continue, the words will just steadily get more extreme, so I'm just gonna stop there. And state the obvious.
SATS R OVERRRRR!!!!!!
It's permanently gone from my life. I don't ever have to take it again! Nunca mas! Of course, there are some aspects of the exam that I feel compelled to mention here. The lady invigilator this time was really nice, very sweet-looking. And the room was quite warm this time; I was quite overdressed in my roxy windbreaker (hey, what was I supposed to expect, the last time I took the SATs the room was like the north freaking pole).
And best of all, I had time to check my answers and do some omitted ones. Even those in the previous sections, although we're not allowed to do that. But hey, who cares? It's like the 'if a tree fell in the forest and nobody saw it, did it make a sound' dilemma. And trust me, nobody saw me do it, or even cared. They were too busy saving their own asses. I did meet this one girl, Erlinda, who had just finished her STPM last year and is applying to the states. Here's how the convo went:
Me: So, did you just finish ur SPM last year?
Erlinda: Actually, I finished my STPM last yr.
Me: (Oops *blush*) Oh I see. So is this your first time taking the SATs?
Erlinda: Yeah. You?
Me: This is my....third time.
Erlinda: What?????! Whoa
Me: Yeah. (what's the big deal?? So I'm a masochist. Got a problem with that?!)
Erlinda: Wow.
Me: So where are you applying to?
Erlinda: Somewhere in Arkansas (Of course, she didn't say somewhere in Arkansas, but the name of the college was so obscure that first I've never heard of it, and now I can't remember it. Who the heck goes to Arkansas, anyways?? I've only ever heard of Kansas, where Dorothy and Toto was in before the hurricane blew them away.)
Me: Cool. Nice meeting you, by the way.
** For those of you sad sops who aren't already familiar with Dorothy & Toto, they're from The Wizard of Oz.
So, in conclusion, my ties with the SATs are officially over and I can get rid of the ugly big book that's been taking up space in my bag, staining my shoulder muscles, frying my brain cells and giving me zits and dark circles. Now to other headaches. I just lost 20 pounds. Not in the physical sense, of course. How I wish.
